When to use Thought Threads

A Thought Thread is useful when an idea grows across several capture sessions and should eventually be transformed as one source.

A Thread is an evolving source, not one long recording

Separate voice notes preserve the moment and context in which each thought was captured. The Thread adds ordering, visibility, supporting context, and source relationships without rewriting the original recordings.

This works well for follow-ups to an earlier meeting, research collected over days, or a plan that develops through repeated reflection.

Context can stay distinct from testimony

Written instructions, corrections, links, and supporting files can influence a conversion without being inserted into the original transcript. Optional relationships—such as clarifies or conflicts with—make the intended connection explicit.

Each conversion is a reproducible moment

A Thread can keep evolving, but each conversion run freezes one exact ordered snapshot. That makes it possible to add later material without rewriting an earlier result and to resume long preparation from run history.

Thought Threads are cloud-backed work records and require Cloud Sync. They are not appropriate when you require device-only storage.
