AI Transcription

Proset sends saved audio to its configured cloud transcription service and returns editable text. An internet connection is required.

How It Works

  1. Stop a recording.
  2. Proset saves and uploads the audio.
  3. The recording opens while transcription runs.
  4. The complete transcript appears when processing finishes.

There is no on-device or offline transcript preview in the current web or Android release. Keep the recording saved so it can be retried if upload or transcription is interrupted.

The server can use a configured primary transcription provider and a backup provider. Provider and model choices can change without changing how the feature works.

If Transcription Fails

The app retries failed pending transcriptions automatically. Retry delays increase from a few seconds to several minutes. If automatic retries are exhausted, open the recording and use Retry Transcription.

Common messages include:

  • Transcription took too long: try again on a more stable connection.
  • Couldn't reach the server: check the connection; the saved recording can be retried.
  • Quota reached: the account has used its included monthly transcriptions.

What Helps

  • Speak close enough to the microphone.
  • Reduce background noise and overlapping speakers.
  • Check names, technical terms, dates, and numbers.
  • Review the transcript before creating a final conversion.
