Thought Threads

A Thought Thread lets you connect multiple voice notes into one evolving idea. Record separate notes over hours, days, or weeks — Proset keeps them together and converts them as a single source.

When To Use Thought Threads

• An idea builds over several sessions and you want one combined output.
• You recorded a meeting follow-up days after the original meeting.
• You want to add written context alongside voice notes before converting.

Create A Thread

There are three ways to start:

1. From a recording — Open any recording and tap the branch icon. Proset creates a thread with that recording as the first note.
2. From the Thought Threads screen — Open Thought Threads from the navigation drawer and tap Create.
3. Empty thread — Start with no notes and add them later.

Add Voice Notes

A thread is built from voice notes arranged in a timeline.

• Record a new note — Tap Record inside the thread. The new note is added automatically.
• Add an existing recording — Tap Add in the timeline section and pick from your saved recordings.

Notes appear in chronological order by default. You can reorder them with the arrow buttons, hide a note with the eye icon, or remove it entirely.

Add Context

Context is extra information that isn't in any voice note — written instructions, background details, corrections, or supporting files.

• Type in the context box and tap Add.
• Attach a file (same types as file import: .txt, .md, .docx, .csv, .xlsx, .pdf, images).
• Optionally tag how a context item relates to a specific note: continues, clarifies, supersedes, conflicts with, or supports.

Context is kept separate from your transcripts. It influences the conversion without changing any original recording.

Convert

When your thread has enough material:

1. Pick a conversion type (same types available on individual recordings).
2. Toggle Clarify first if you want Proset to ask a question before converting.
3. Choose output format (Markdown or plain text).
4. Tap Convert.

Each conversion run takes a snapshot of the thread at that moment. If you add more notes later and convert again, you get a new result based on the updated thread — previous results stay unchanged.

Status

Threads have three states:

Status	Meaning
Open	Active, accepting new notes and context.
Ready	Material is complete — ready to convert.
Archived	Done. Still viewable but out of the active list.

Tap a status chip to change it.

Run History

Every conversion you run on a thread is saved. Open Run history to revisit previous results, resume an interrupted run, or retry a failed one.

Tips

• You don't need to plan a thread in advance. Start with one note and add more as ideas come.
• Use context to add things you can't say aloud — links, corrections, formatting preferences.
• Threads work well for projects that span days: meeting notes, research ideas, evolving plans.
